Phone Consultation

The first step in working together is for us to have a free 15-minute phone consultation. During this call, I will ask about what brings you to therapy and a little about your history. We will also discuss if I am a good fit for your current needs, and I will answer any questions you have. We will go over your availability so that we can find a weekly day/time for your sessions.  I understand that this initial step can be daunting, so please know that I get how difficult it can be. If I'm not the right therapist for you, I am happy to provide you with referrals to other providers who may be able to help.

Next Steps

Prior to your first session, I will email you some forms to read and to fill out electronically through a secure client portal.  Prior to your first session, I will email you a link to my HIPAA compliant secure platform, which can easily be accessed on any computer or tablet with camera functionality.

Starting Therapy

Sessions are 50 minutes long and are held on a weekly basis.  You can be located physically anywhere in California for your session; it just needs to be a quiet and confidential space (with good internet connection!) so that you can talk openly and discuss what is truly on your mind and in your heart.  At your first few sessions, we will review information related to your history, talk about your goals and start to get to know each other.

Therapy is a place where you can open up and discuss topics that may feel off limits in other parts of your life. I invite you to bring all of yourself, and at your own pace, to explore various aspects of your life.  Some areas that you might like to discuss and explore may include:

  • Anxiety / Worry

  • Depression / The Blues

  • Life Transitions / Life Changes

  • Grief & Loss

  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Identity Exploration & Formation

  • Parenting Struggles

  • Self-Esteem / Self-Doubt

  • Relationship Difficulties

  • Unprocessed Trauma

  • Work Challenges
